IS YOUR COURSE ACCREDITED?
Yes, our course is accredited by a recognised qualification.
Our qualification is a leading certification body in the Building Services Engineering (BSE) sector, offering qualifications through about 200 approved centers nationwide.
DO YOU OFFER ANY DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES?
We offer a range of online learning courses however for our gas course this is all completed in house. We believe that the heating sector requires more than self-study due to its complexity and hands-on training needs. Becoming a gas engineer involves skills that cannot be effectively learned through distance learning.
AM I ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THE GAS SAFE REGISTER AFTER SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THE COURSE?
Yes, upon completing your tests, you can join the Gas Safe Register and you will posses all of the required qualifications to work in the domestic gas sector.
WHAT IS THE COST TO JOIN THE GAS SAFE REGISTER?
If you are employed, your employer will cover the cost. If you start your own company, the initial fee is around £400 and requires yearly renewal at approximately £120.
WILL I RECEIVE HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE DURING THIS COURSE?
Absolutely. Our course is among the longest Gas Safe training options for new entrants, allowing ample time to develop job-related skills in our practical workshop. Additionally, you’ll spend 4 months full time working with a Gas Safe Registered business.
AM I GUARANTEED A JOB?
All successful candidates will be passed to various affiliated companies who will conduct interviews and if successful they will employ you as a member of their gas team.
WHAT IS THE AVERAGE SALARY FOR A GAS ENGINEER?
The average annual salary for a gas engineer various however is around £30,000 per year. With additional earnings from overtime and standby allowances, it is possible for an engineer to exceed £45,000 per year. Those opting for self-employment may see even higher earnings.
DO I NEED TO PURCHASE ANYTHING?
All necessary equipment will be provided during your time at Caledonia Training Centre. While on placement, you will share tools with your engineer. However, upon securing a job, employers typically expect you to have your own set of tools.
